Up next:: The (British) Open Championship!! The season's third major is again (of course) focused on who can beat Tiger - and it will not be Geoff Ogilvy, Phil Mickelson (who missed a 4 footer on 18 that would have kept him on the cut line) or Monty... but could Sergio finally get it done?

Friday's observation: cut day and the UK is introduced to Boo Weekley... who says he was unaware of any of the tradition surrounding the Open and Carnoustie, and that he does not follow golf - quote "if it ain't huntin' or fishin'I ain't interested". Granted, he is playing up the redneck aspect - but the UK media is eating it up... especially stories about his background and Florida's panhandle region".

Here is another good background article.

Saturday's observation: Moving day... best quote was about the weather. UK coverage started to mention the sunshine a bit too much, so Australian announcer Wayne Grady offers "boy, you'd think its almost summer around here with how excited you are" -- and after a pregnant pause comes the response "well if we came across a kangaroo out here I'm sure you'd be jumping up and down...??

I still like the US Open's Quote of Saturday's, and maybe the whole event's, coverage (on Sky Sports coverage with Butch Harmon - who is really not a good commentator) - about Bubba Watson (who went to the same high school as Boo Weekley)'s triple bogey: "And I know that he's a little bit of a redneck and a country boy, but you gotta be smarter than that". -- nice Butch.

Official site: Carnoustie.

Also - it is obvious, but Tiger does such a good job managing the days that his swing is not 'on' that makes the biggest difference between him and his closest peers / competitors. and try to tell me who will catch him and when...

How great is this? Denunzio parlayed his hard earned Havecamp caddy earnings into a Seattle eatery:

The answer to the question on everyone's mind... a Coke is $1.29.

Newsworthy: Tiger's wife Elin Nordegren: everyone wants photos from their wedding, honeymoon, etc. - so here they are.
